Flight Arrivals at Goa International Airport

When arriving at Goa International Airport travelers will find themselves on the ground floor of the terminal building where Arrivals and Baggage Claim is located. The Arrivals area is divided into a Domestic and an International section.

Please remember to collect your luggage from the Baggage Claim area before proceeding to exit the Arrivals area.

Transfers at Goa Airport

Rental CarsCar rental companies at Goa Airport can be found in the domestic arrivals area. It is a normality to hire a vehicle with a driver in India as the road conditions and the traffic can be intimidating for visitors. The extra cost for a driver is usually around 250 INR per day, but it is of course possible to choose to drive yourself, in which case a deposit will usually have to be paid.

Buses – Local buses going to Chicalim or Vasco Da Gama from a bus stop located approximately 500 m/1600 ft from the airport terminal. The local buses are often very crowded, don't have room for larger luggage and the frequency can be either high or low and schedules are not usually followed.

Private and Goa Tourism offer bus services to different destinations in Goa, mostly to Panjim/Panaji or Calangute during the day. Again, the frequency varies and there is no bus center at the airport and no displays showing available routes and schedules. Travelers with doubt should ask around for a bus to transfer them closer to their destination. Panjim has a larger bus station that connects with other destinations.

Bus fares are usually cheap and it is possible to get to CAlangute or Panjim for less than 200 INR.

Taxis – Pre-paid taxis can be found in a facility outside the terminal building. The airport strongly recommends everyone, including the locals, to not use any other taxis due to the high risk of scammers. See more about taxis at Goa Airport.

Panjim/Panaji can be reached within an hour, depending on traffic, and will cost around 1,000 INR while the journey to Calangute will take around 20-30 minutes longer and cost around 500-800 INR more depending on exact destination.

Hotel Shuttles – Many of the Goa hotels, especially the larger hotels and resorts, offer an airport shuttle service for transferring between location and the airport. These are organized by the traveler directly through the hotel. Need to book a hotel? See a selection of hotels near Goa Airport.

Trains – There are two train stations located nearby. A small single platform station is located just over 1 km (less than a mile) from the airport in Dabolim. A taxi ride there is cheap but it is also only just over a 20 minute walk with light luggage. The other station is approximately 5 km from the airport in the nearby city of Vasco Da Gama. This station is bigger with more options of destinations and departures. Both these train stations are connected with larger high-speed train stations in Goa, which in turn are connected to major hubs and cities in India.

A larger railway station nearby is the Madgao high-speed station approximately 30 km/18.5 mi from the airport. More information about train services near Goa Airport.

Cruise Terminal – A cruise terminal is located in Mormugao Port 9 km/5.6 mi from Goa Airport.

Ferries – The option of transferring via ferry is available at Goa Airport. Free shuttles will transfer travelers to the ferry port at Baina beach, 5 km/3.1 mi from the airport. From here it is possible to transfer to ports in Panjim, Baga, Old Goa and Sinquerim. This is still a fairly new service that will see more ports and routes added in coming phases.

It is unclear if there are transfers to the airport from the various locations.
